Hin Wong Bay is one of the more remote bays on Koh Tao and most easily reached by 4 wheel drive, dirt bike or by longtail boat. Once you get there, however, you realize it was worth the effort. Clear warm water, seclusion and dramatic scenery provides for an outstanding experience.
A relatively large bay which is a popular dive site having a pinnacle rising from 30 metres depth to a few metres below sea level.
This part of the island shelves rapidly so is a good site for confident and capable swimmers to snorkel. Larger fish are visible when visibility is good, as well as the usuall array of Butterflyfish, Angelfish, Wrasse, and perhaps some Long Tail Bannerfish, as well as the wonderful Tiera Batfish.
Most of this Bay is rocky but one or two areas of sand can be found by intrepid explorers. Usually very quiet, there are a couple of resorts with restaurants where one can quench a thirst and satisfy an appetite.
